Hi guys! When came to Invercargill seriously a lot of people might think that there is nothing much to do. Yes, actually Invercargill is the most southern part of the country and have yet really well develop compare to the others part of New Zealand. Even thought, it is the fact, still we decided to pay a visit to Invercargill. Drive all the way down from Dunedin to Invercargill, surprisingly we passed by the sport shoes fence.
#1. Shoes Fence
I guess a lot of you very well known about the bra fence but actually there is a lot of fence here in New Zealand. There is bra fence, shoes fence, toothbrush fence, paua fence, bicycle fence and etc. Getting more and more creative and more unique fence has been created. We never plan to visit any fence here but since we just passed by why not have a picture right. As we are rushing as we need to reach Invercargill before the day turn dark. So, we never spend too much time over here.
#2. Nugget Point Light House
Before Invercargill, we first drop by the famous lighthouse - Nugget Point light house. Lucky us the weather getting better so that we can have great photo here. I don't have a really great camera with me, all photos taken by iphone 6. When we are here still not much tourist yet so faster took some shot first before become crowded. If you manage to travel the south Island, if I may suggest please don't miss out those lookout point and lighthouse, they have the best scenic always.
#3. Stirling Point Invercargill
This is a must visit place if you happened to be in Invercargill. A masterpiece of signboard that represent the town. You can find a lot of the exact picture from social media. This sign board also represent the most southern point of the country. Drive from Invercargill to Bluff too 20 to 30 minutes depending on where are you staying. After tons of picture taken, you may go to the restaurant just right opposite this signboard to try out there famous bluff oyster.
#4. Oyster Cove
We ordered Oyster selection - Natural 1/2 dozen and seafood platter sharing for 4 persons. The portion is a little bit too much for us, I guess the portion is just right for 5 persons. We spend an hour here because its a raining day. Oh yah! did I mention Invercargill's weather are so unpredictable. No, the weather forecast never work for Invercargill and Bluff.
#5. Waipapa Light House.
You can also pay a visit to Waipapa light house. From there you can always found seal sleeping around the light house. We found quite a lot sleeping on the grass. But please beware that they are huge! Please don't go too near as they might attack you. From Invercargill you need to drive approximately 62KM away and took us 1 hour drive. Trust me its worth. Unfortunately, its a raining day and the rain getting heavier so we decided to leave and back to invercargill.
#6. The world’s southern-most Starbucks
Personally think that this is a must visit Starbucks ever. Even thought there is nothing special about this Starbucks compare to the others. But imagine this is the WORLD southern most Starbucks ever. Why not just drop by and have a cup of coffee while chilling with friend or send off postcard, right?
All the above was the summary of my trip. Those are the places that I personally thought that worth a visit. That all for my post! I will see you again in next post. Xoxo
